A Little R&R With the Family
Just got back from a little R&R with the family. We went to Santa Barbara to check out the beach action and stayed there for two days enjoying the ocean and sand. It didn't feel like home though, so the search is still on. After SB, we took the kids to Disneyland, and we now have annual passes, so we can go whenever we want. We had a great time. Before we left, I mailed out several more query letters to agents and producers in regards to my latest screenplay. Now it's back to work. This is the challenging part of what I do, and it reminds me of when I first started out acting. It's difficult to describe it and most people don't have a clue of how hard it is to promote yourself in the arts. It's a full-time job, and I am always trying to think of new ways of promotion. Hell, writing screenplays and picture books is easy compared to trying to find an agent, a publishing house, or a producer who believes in your work. All in all, I am very proud and happy of where I am right now. I am actually way ahead of schedule with my goals. I am starting my outline for my new script this week and writing another picture book as well. My goal is to have these two new projects complete by August or September. (My next video blog will be up this month as well. It will focus on my process and how I re-wrote Peace Signs for Kaiser Permanente).
