LASIT TALENT FILM and TV ACTOR'S LABS Do you have an interest in acting in movies, television shows, and commercials? Now is the time to do something about it and begin your training so you are better prepared for all the upcoming opportunities that are on the horizon. Actors in Massachusetts continue to work as extras or background talent and some are transcending into the desired speaking roles. The new TV series, Body of Proof, starring Dana Delany as Dr. Megan Hunt, Jeri Ryan as Dr. Kate Murphy, Geoffrey Arend as Dr. Elliot Gross, John Carroll Lynch as Detective Bud Morris, Windell Middlebrooks as Dr. Curtis Brumfield, Nic Bishop as Peter Dunlap and Sonja Sohn as Detective Samantha Baker, will be filming in RI. Trust me, acting opportinities will come up.
BE PREPARED! In order to separate yourself from the competition, you’ll have to know how to shift the energy in the audition room. In all my classes, I will explain how to do this with confidence and how to own the room.
To date, I have already trained over 700 actors in this beautiful state of Massachusetts. Students have traveled from New Hampshire, New Bedford, Boston, Rhode Island, and New York to train with me. I’ve worked with Plymouth Rock Studios since November of 2008 and I created the Actors’ Forum and the popular Actors’ Labs. The first acting labs were offered for free for six months with donations of nonperishable food items as the entry fee. With all those classes, I am proud to say my acting labs have generated over 5,000 dollars worth of food for the Great Plymouth Food Warehouse which equals over 2,000 meals provided. The Kevin Lasit Acting Labs are offered at the affordable price of $120.00 for six weeks of training. All classes are two hours long and meet once a week. At the moment, I have three exciting acting labs to choose from:
Introduction to Extra Work and Commercial Auditions: (six week lab)
In this hands-on, six week lab, Kevin Lasit will guide students through the process of extra work, the importance of consistency and making choices, and terminology used on a working production. This lab also introduces students to the camera gradually with the proper way to slate your name and hit your profiles like a true professional. In addition, audition preparation/ relaxation techniques will ground and focus the actor and is vital for anyone pursuing an acting career. Students will have plenty of on camera time going through the process of several commercial mock auditions and improvisations. Video playback is provided of all work with positive feedback.
Lab Size: 16 students. Fee: $120.00
*All levels are welcome and no experience required. Ages: 15 to adult
Saturday morning from 9am to 11am
NEW LOCATION:
Location: Sandwich Community Television Station 11 Jan Sebastian Drive, Building 11, unit 10.
(Weather permitting during winter season. If class is cancelled, a class will be added to ensure the complete six sessions with Kevin. Check local news for updates concerning the status for Sandwich schools during winter storms.)
Commercial 2/ Day Player Lab: (six week lab)
This is the next step after the Introduction to Extra Work and Commercial Auditions Lab. In this interactive six week lab, Kevin Lasit will guide you through more complex commercial auditions, refining your choices, and continuing the process of shaping your instrument. This lab will also move into more Day Player roles, and how to make your audition more organic with your physicality, and how to make an impact with minimal speaking lines. Lab Size: 16 students. Fee: $120.00
*All levels welcome. Depending on experience, you may not need to take the introduction lab.
Ages: 15 to adult

Dramatic Scene Study: (Six week lab)
It’s important for actors to have a safe place away from casting directors, directors, and auditions while waiting to book gigs. A place where they can “workout” and continue to shape their instrument into a strong performer. In this hands-on, six week lab, Kevin Lasit will guide students through the process of cold readings and how to “own the room” in any audition. Students will also have the opportunity to perform memorized dramatic scenes with a scene partner. The last class will consist of commercial auditions. Video playback is provided for all work with positive feedback.
Lab Size: 12 students. Fee: $120.00
*For the more experienced actor or permission from Kevin Lasit to join. Ages: 15 to adult

Has your child ever wanted to act in a commercial? Well, this six week lab is for your child! Here are a few comments from previous students: “Not only did I learn a lot, but it was such fun--and all of the people were just great. It is amazing to me how much talent people have and how creative they are.” ~ Judy Cully - Commercial 2 class. “I can't thank you enough for all of your time, advice and support. Plymouth Rock Studios sure picked the right guy to come here and get the job done! I do believe that the Actors Lab that you’re teaching prepared me for my audition, and brought out confidence that was deep within!! I STILL want in this Fall for Advanced Labs!!! Don't forget to send me the info when it's time. HUGE HUGS and High Fives.” ~Erica McDermott – intro to commercials and dramatic scene study for film/TV. Landed featured role in The Fighter with Mark Walberg “At first, I couldn’t believe he was really as sincere as he presented. (He is, he is). In a relatively short span of time, Kevin accomplished what my best teachers have always done: inform, encourage, supported. What he added to the mix was an astonishingly empowering, liberating and inspiring motivation that ranks him among the three best teachers I’ve ever had. No, make that the very best.” ~Jack Craib – Dramatic scene study for film/TV “What an incredible experience. I’ve taken many classes through the years (including a B.F.A. from SUNY Purchase Acting Conservatory) and haven’t come across a teacher who’s been able to provide such effective results while maintaining such a safe and nurturing environment. Additionally, Kevin’s method spoke to all of us despite our varying levels of education and experience. We all took away so much…” ~ Heather Zicko – Dramatic scene study for film/TV I just wanted to take a moment and express to you how much I enjoy your class (even though I missed a couple), and maybe even more so, your philosophy on acting, and on life. I enter your class, and it is a breathe of fresh air. You are so positive, uplifting, and kind. It is such a welcomed 'atmosphere' as you spoke of tonight in class, in contrast to the 'corporate' world of which I am a part of daily. It is so nice to know that a person like you is out there, inspiring others to be true to themselves, valuing each person's "life-light" in a non-judgemental way. Even in your critiques, you are so constructive, and do not overlook the positive attributes that each person has brought forth.I hope that this doesn't come across too sappy, but I wanted to share with you how in such a brief and short period of time, by listening to & learning from you, you have made an impact on me, as I am sure you have on many many others, and I want to thank you.I look forward to next week's class. ~Best, Alisha Semprini - Commercial 2 class Hi Kevin, I just wanted to start off by thanking you for the great class that made my Thursdays far more enjoyable. I have done several classes before, and your was the most inspiring, challenging, and entertaining - you absolutely have the gift of teaching. ~Ben Davies - Production Manager of The Boston Studio - commercial 2 class Matty has been busy lately. He has had a few auditions one of which ended up being between him and another boy. His R.I agent, Annette, said that the ad agency wanted to know who Matty's acting coach was, so I gave her your info and website address. They said after a grueling day of seeing many children, "He was a breath of fresh air and made our day." Thanks Kevin. Sincerely, Elizabeth Lyons mother of Matt Lyons – Children’s introduction to commercial class Thanks again and see you in class where it's YOUR turn to shine!
