Kairos update

Well, although the last two weeks have been a whirlwind of excitement regarding my latest spec script, WISHLAND, making it all the way to the finals in this years Kairos Prize for Spiritual Uplifting Screenplays Competition, I regret that my phone has remained silent.  I am positive there are three people out there in the Nation who have already been called and they are celebrating the news.  Congrats to the lucky three winners!  They will be announced at the 16th annual Faith and Values Award's Gala next Tuesday in Beverly Hills.

I’d like to take this opportunity to thank all the judges who reviewed my script and thought it deserved to be in the finals (the top 12), the entire team at the Kairos Prize, including Michael Trent, Movieguide and the Templeton Foundation.

I can’t tell you enough how proud I am to have been a part of this year's competition and to get so close.  It’s so inspiring to know that organizations like Movieguide and the Templeton Foundation actually exist and care about entertainment with values, morals and faith.

Of course it would have been so amazing to win, and at the same time, it is truly an honor to be included in the final round of judging.

So here’s to the hard, but rewarding fight to continue to do the difficult task ~ to continue writing to share compelling stories which impact the human heart.

Write on ~

Kevin Lasit
