Wishland Selected in the Semi-Finals for Kairos

A few days ago, I had some incredible news come my way.  My latest spec, Wishland, has been selected in the semi-finals for the Kairos Prize for Spiritually Uplifting Screenplay Competition.  This means I am in the top 32 scripts and being considered for a finalist spot.  I can’t describe the feelings that are swimming around in my mind and heart at this time.  I can’t tell you enough just how good it feels to be validated by other people in the business.  I really feel I am at a point in my career where it all boils down to taste.  After you learn the structure and understand the process of storytelling, you never know how your story will impact people, and everyone has a different opinion.  All I can do at this point is continue to write the stories that rest in my mind and heart, and write with true passion.  It brings so much pride to my heart to know that two of my latest screenplays are being acknowledged in competitions.  Boys’ Day Out made the quarter-finals, and now Wishland has made it into the semi-finals.  Whatever happens at this point, one thing stands out in my mind…. I’m getting closer with each script I complete, and I will never give up.   Thank you to all the judges at the Kairos Prize Competition!  This has started my 2008 with a bang!
